About Us

Debbie Bond serves as principal of Mission Trail Elementary, bringing decades of experience in education and leadership within Blue Valley Schools. She is proud of the school’s vital role in the community and attributes its success to an exceptional staff, dedicated parents and amazing students.

At Mission Trail, the focus remains on the whole child, with staff and families working collaboratively to support each student’s academic achievement and personal growth. Bond emphasizes the importance of positive relationships between students, families and staff as the foundation for learning. High academic and personal expectations are held for both students and staff, with a shared passion for continuous learning and improvement modeled daily.

Bond has spent most of her life in Johnson County. She earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Kansas and holds a school leadership license from Baker University. A lifelong learner, she remains open to pursuing further education.

She and her husband have been married for many years and have one daughter, an engineer living in Tampa, Florida, with her family. Outside of school, Bond enjoys gardening, reading and following Kansas City sports. Their French bulldog, Evie, is the beloved “roost ruler” at home.

Bond looks forward to continuing her work with the Mission Trail community. She encourages families to get involved through the PTO and volunteering at the school, confident they will find it rewarding. Bond welcomes communication and is happy to connect with families to answer questions or discuss concerns.
